In the early days of the United States, American Indians sustained the new settlers by sharing their way of life. Imagine modern students meeting an Accohannock warrior who will teach them to track wild game. Imagine youngsters learning to thresh wild rice along the river. Their understanding of the country's First People would be awakened. Their appreciation of this nation's history would be transformed. You can help create a new way to study and understand our history. Become a Friend of the Accohannock and help build the Native American Living Village.

The Living Village will stand within a traditional palisade fence. These sturdy fences built of poles circled and protected the original Accohannock villages. For a donation of $50 you can erect a palisade pole. A plaque will be affixed with your name and home town. You will also receive a certificate describing the location and number of your palisade pole, along with a photo of the plaque. A palisade pole can be a gift or memorial for a loved one. Five palisade poles can be erected for $200.
